Hot Pastrami & Swiss on Rye
Ingredients
1 cup sauerkraut, drained
8 slices rye bread
butter for bread
1 pound pastrami
1 1/2 pound Swiss cheese
1 jar American Spoon Golden Ale Mustard
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
1. Place the sauerkraut in a small strainer and let drain.
2. Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the non-buttered side of bread, place a quarter pound of pastrami and a few slices of Swiss cheese. Top with the other slice of bread, buttered side up.
3. Preheat a large, nonstick skillet on medium-low heat. Add the sandwiches to the pan and cook for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook the second side until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes more. Remove sandwiches from the pan.
4. Open each one, add sauerkraut and mustard and enjoy!
