
Double D's Summer Hummer
Ingredients
Delight in the delectable ice cream cocktail made famous at Detroit's Bayview Yacht Club in the 1960's. This classic also happens to be the favorite sipping drink of our culinary director's dad, whom we lovingly call 'Double D.' Our version of the hummer gets an update with a generous spoonful of Boozy Butterscotch or Salted Maple Caramel.
2 ½ ounces white rum
1 ½ ounces Kahlua, or other coffee liqueur
1 tablespoon American Spoon Boozy Butterscotch or Salted Maple Caramel
2 big scoops vanilla ice cream
Instructions
Place the rum, Kahlua, and butterscotch or caramel in a blender. Add ice cream and blend until smooth. Pour into two glasses, sip, and start humming.
*If you’d like to create an optional drizzle, use a spoon to swirl slightly warmed butterscotch or caramel inside the glass before pouring in the cocktail.
