Apple Crisp
Ingredients
For the Filling
6 cups baking apples, like Braeburn, Golden Delicious, or Jonagold, peeled, cored, and sliced ¼” thick
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 jar American Spoon Apple & Cinnamon Preserves
For the Topping
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup American Spoon Maple Granola
½ cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. To make the filling, place the sliced apples in a large bowl. Combine the brown sugar and cornstarch and mix with the apples. Finally, stir in the jar of preserves and set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the brown sugar and granola and toss, then add the butter. Using a fork or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it forms small clumps.
4. Butter an 8x8-inch (2 quart) baking dish. Give your apples a quick stir, then add to the baking pan. Spread the granola topping evenly over top of the apples, cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until bubbling and golden brown, about 20 minutes more. Serve warm with ice cream and enjoy!
